Dear Friends,
July has been a whirlwind month that brought what one would expect: fireworks, heat, vacation and for me, personally, a new member of our family.
On July 3, my first grandchild came into this world, Nolan Thomas Conlon. What struck me immediately was not only the abundance of love, but how fully I could embrace the miracle and joy of this child.
A new parent is often caught up in the daily tasks of a baby’s needs as well as their own. However, a grandmother has the gift of being fully present to the wonder of new life. It has me thinking of my own mother, who loved children-she raised six of her own, was a grandmother to nine and spent her career teaching children.
This Saturday, we’re hosting our first-ever Pink Awning Archive Sale, a name chosen in homage to my mother.
When my mother retired from teaching, she embarked on a new chapter of her own by opening a rental and resale shop. This was the late 1980’s-long before Rent the Runway or The RealReal existed-truly ahead of her time. She called her shop the Pink Awning, and it’s in that spirit we’ve named this sale.
Though this special sale aligns with Evanston’s Sidewalk Sales it is a one day only sale, so you won’t want to miss it!
The Pink Awning Archive Sale is Saturday, July 25 from 11:00 – 5:00.
Kinsco will also be popping up with their unique Thai inspired treats. They have been selling out at every pop-up, so you won’t want to miss them!
I would also like to take a moment to welcome and thank five new members to the cloth + home family-Elizabeth, Jean, Lailany, Melissa and Sarah. They all bring their unique style and plenty of enthusiasm.
I am so grateful for their commitment to the mission of cloth + home which has allowed me to step away and be with my growing family.
See you Saturday!
