Dear Friends,
You could say I took a season-long snooze. After all, one definition of hibernation is dormancy and inactivity—but I love that the definition also includes preparation and location. In that sense, I’ve been embracing all aspects of hibernation.
Stepping away from social media gave me the space to be more present and fully enjoy my growing family. It’s a busy and exciting season, not only for cloth + home, but for me personally. All three of my children are stepping into big life changes: a new job and a move, a marriage, and a baby on the way.
And then there’s the quieter side of hibernation-preparation and location. Behind the scenes, I’ve been creating a new space, nurturing relationships with the designers I’ve long admired, and beginning to build connections with new ones. I’m grateful for all the people who’ve supported me during this phase-my family, friends, customers, and colleagues. From construction and layout to design, curating pieces, and setup, throughout this journey I’ve received a lot of great advice and encouragement, along with a fair bit of muscle.
After a longer-than-expected renovation (aren’t they always?), I’m excited to share that our new space at 610 Dempster will reopen on Thursday, May 14, from 4:00–7:00 pm.

One thing that hasn’t changed is my commitment to supporting independent designers and makers. I’m especially thrilled to celebrate the reopening alongside three accomplished designers who have been with the shop since day one: clothing designer Parron Allen, handbag designer Fernanda of Volta Atelier, and jewelry designer Anjali of Indie-Pendant.
And if that’s not enough reason to stop by, the evening also coincides with the Main/Dempster Mile Art and Beverage Crawl—making it the perfect night to come out and celebrate.
Thank you to everyone who took the time to fill out the survey shared at the end of last year. Your feedback was both thoughtful and invaluable in shaping this next chapter of cloth + home.
Change can be both exciting and challenging, but one thing remains true: we still need spaces that bring people together. Alongside supporting independent makers, cloth + home has always been rooted in fostering community.
I hope you find the new space warm, welcoming, and filled with pieces that delight and inspire you.
